Child Of The Past, AKA Emma, is a 2002 bay mare that stands 15.1 HH. She came to us through a trade from North Carolina. She is broke to ride, super gentle, and very, very cowy. We took a family vacation to Smoke Rise and I rode her on a cattle drive. I didn’t have to do anything, but hang on. She chased them down steep terrain, through woods, over muddy creek beds and back up steep terrain. When the cows slowed up, she pinned her ears back and bit them to get ‘em going again. I was laughing the whole time. It was great! She is a granddaughter of Cal Bar (NCHA money earner and producer) and has Poco Stampede (NCHA Hall of Fame) on her papers – no wonder she has cow sense! We’re going to ride her for another year or two before breeding her.
